Certificate in Team Leadership (CTL)
NQF 3
Objective
The GIMT Certificate in Team Leadership Programme aims to achieve a sound foundation of management competence and the ability to apply the knowledge with skill. The programme provides delegates with a complete portfolio of basic management tools and competencies. This certificate is aimed at team leaders and first line managers.
The Outcomes-Based Team Leader programme is based on "generic" competencies that a "world-class" team leader needs to have with respect to leading their workplace teams. The overall objective of the programme is the transfer of skills to team leaders and first line managers that will allow them to:
- Facilitate the development of team structures;
- Implement and maintain team processes;
- Enable effective teamwork amongst team members.
Duration
There are a minimum of 11 contact sessions in this programme. The programme can realistically be completed within 12 months, depending on the periods between each workshop. This duration allows for the effective assessment of learners knowledge, skills and performance outputs (competence) before, during and after the programme, for example, as they are working and applying their skills in their organisation.
This programme can be conducted as an in-company programme which will be highly customised to meet the requirements of each company, or can be offered as an "open" programme.
